The Smith Family (TSF) is a national charity helping young Australians in need to get the most out of their education, so they can create better futures for themselves. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Policy Analyst to join our team in Sydney. Melbourne or Brisbane-based applicants will also be considered.

We have a truly exciting role for you where you will have the opportunity to meaningfully contribute to improving outcomes for disadvantaged young Australians.

This role will see you contributing to the core functions of the Policy Team and have accountability for evaluating, providing advice and insights on and reviewing a suite of The Smith Family’s Learning for Life programs. You will support the Policy Managers and cross functional teams through the development of TSF policy advice, literature reviews and program design elements and contribute to the strategic planning of the Smith Family’s Policy and Programs function.

To be successful in this role, you will have well developed conceptual thinking, quantitative and qualitative analysis expertise, highly developed and effective written and verbal communication abilities, relationship management and negotiation skills, and the ability to manage a portfolio of varied projects. You will demonstrate an ability to gather and integrate complex and varied information into clear and actionable insights and deliver high-quality outputs in a timely fashion. You will also draw on formal training in Social Policy, Education, Research and Evaluation or a related field or substantial equivalent experience.
