DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT
A strong donor community will be vital to sustaining Shepparton Art Museum’s mission of providing a rich cultural collection for the region and a gathering place for communities. The Shepparton Art Museum Foundation works in partnership with the Museum and its Board to foster a culture of philanthropy for the Museum and to drive private investment into the Museum.
The successful applicant will have built a career in philanthropic and/or commercial fundraising, demonstrating:
- skills/knowledge in managing the following programs: major gifts, planned giving (bequests), the annual fund, and Trusts and Foundations grant application processes;
- strong leadership ability, including management, strategic and analytical skills;
- strong interpersonal and presentation skills and poise when communicating with individuals and groups in a variety of audience sectors;
- the ability to exercise tact and judgment;
- the ability to work effectively with staff and volunteers from diverse backgrounds; and
- excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to use technology to gather, interpret, organise and present data.
An understanding of the arts and culture sector is highly desirable, as is a knowledge of and empathy to the culture of a regional community.
