About the role

Churches of Christ has been an active part of the community for more than 130 years. A significant presence in Queensland and Victoria delivers over 200 services in more than 100 communities. Over 3,800 staff and 1,000 volunteers positively impact tens of thousands of lives each year.

Operating a range of missional and community care services to assist families, the elderly, and people in the areas of foster care; community housing; retirement living; home care; and residential aged care services, Churches of Christ in Queensland provides Christ- inspired care and compassion to vulnerable people at different stages of their life journey.

We are now seeking interest from suitably experienced candidates to lead Churches of Christ in Queensland as Chief Executive Officer.   Reporting to a connected and active Board, the next Chief Executive will ensure the organisation continues to bring impact and meaning through the formation and execution of mission centric, commercial and purpose-oriented strategy and operational excellence.

To be considered, we are seeking candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Deep connection and commitment to the Christian faith, mission, and values alignment
  • Proven success as Chief Executive or Senior Executive with responsibility across multi-dimensional, large, complex businesses in a relevant human services setting
  • An ability to bring mission and purpose to light in a successful commercial endeavour
  • Success in leading organisational change relating to growth and evolution of complexity
  • Astute financial and commercial acumen that ensures sustainability whilst capitalising on commercial opportunities that deliver on impact and mission
  • An ability to foster productive and collaborative relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and confidently represent the organisation in public forums
  • Experience in reporting to and working with a Board to capitalise on opportunities, mitigate risk and ensure compliance and governance requirements are well managed
  • A track record of developing exceptional executive collaboration, fostering talent and professional development through clarity, commitment, and encouragement of direct reports to fulfill their potential

In summary, to be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate a strong record of innovative, visionary, values-led leadership as a CEO, which has resulted in growing a complex organisation recognised for delivery of quality outcomes and financial sustainability in the human services and/or health or related person-centred industries.  Your committed Christian faith guides your leadership style and compassion for those most vulnerable. You will hold relevant tertiary qualifications and your experience will have come from large, complex environments with multifaceted operations. 
  
Whilst strong preference will be given to suitably aligned candidates from the human services and/or health sectors we will also consider exceptional CEO level candidates who can demonstrate commitment and passion for the delivery of services supporting vulnerable people at different stages of their life journey.
