This role also requires the successful candidate to complete and receive a clear result for a NDIS Worker Screening Check, International Police Check (where required), and Working with Children Check. 

About the role

Planned Giving Manager  

Guide Dogs Victoria is seeking an experienced Planned Giving Manager in a full-time capacity, based at our Kew office. This role reports to the General Manager for Fundraising and Philanthropy and the purpose of this position is to lead the organisation’s efforts in securing legacy gifts and planned donations. The role manages a team of six and plays a crucial part in building and maintaining relationships with donors interested in leaving a lasting impact on our mission through bequests, major gifts, charitable trusts, and other planned giving means. 

 

In this role you will be responsible to:  

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive planned giving strategy aligned with the organisation’s mission and goals.  
  • Identify opportunities for growth in planned giving and continuously assess industry trends.  
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective planned giving donors.  
  • Provide personalised cultivation plans to educate and engage donors in planned giving opportunities.  
  • Work closely with donors, financial advisors, and legal professionals to facilitate planned giving arrangements.  
  • Guide donors through the decision-making process and execute planned giving agreements.  
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement targeted communications and materials for planned giving initiatives.  
  • Conduct educational seminars and workshops to raise awareness and understanding of planned giving options.  
  • Coordinate with legal and financial professionals to ensure accurate and compliant documentation of planned gifts.  
  • Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations impacting planned giving.  
  • Maintain accurate records of planned giving donors and prospects.  
  • Generate regular reports on the performance and growth of the planned giving program.  
  • Provide training to internal staff on planned giving best practices.  
  • Develop and maintain educational materials for staff and donors.  

 

The successful candidate will have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree or professional certification in planned giving, estate planning, or related areas is preferred.  
  • Proven experience in planned giving, with a track record of successfully securing significant legacy and major philanthropic gifts.  
  • Strong knowledge of tax laws, estate planning, and financial instruments related to planned giving.  
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and compelling manner.  
  • Familiarity with donor databases and planned giving software.
