The Queensland Multicultural Centre (QMC) is one of Brisbane’s iconic exhibitions and events venues. Located beneath the Story Bridge on the historic Yungaba site. Opening in 2012, the purpose-built facility was established to promote unity in our society and a sense of belonging for all. QMC offers a broad range of spaces to suit both community and corporate needs and welcomes the opportunity for people to celebrate and share their diversity through performance and arts.

 

QMC is managed by BEMAC, Queensland’s most dynamic producer of multicultural arts. BEMAC has been successfully staging productions that fuel the diverse practice of artists from a variety of cultural backgrounds for over three decades.

 

We’re looking for someone with attention to detail and a can-do attitude to support our functions and events delivery.

 

 

 

About the Role 

 

The QMC Bookings and Functions Coordinator coordinates all aspects of the bookings at the Queensland Multicultural Centre in line with the Centre’s, and organisations, vision while complying with the venue’s policies and regulations and ensuring a positive experience for all venue hirers and attendees.

Essential Criteria

     * Bachelor of Event Management or similar

     * Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role with demonstrated experience with event management in a venue.

     * Demonstrated experience in event planning, strong time management and simultaneous coordination of multiple event elements with strong attention to detail.

     * Demonstrated ability to interpret general technical requirements and provide advice working in collaboration with the venue’s contractors to achieve successful outcomes for the hirer.

     * Demonstrated experience in the management of Front of House operations including box office, bar & kiosk and ushering.

     * Be readily available on call after hours and weekends as required to assist venue staff and hirers during events.

     * High Computer Literacy skills, including strong skills in MS Office Suite including Outlook, Powerpoint, Excel and Word)

     * Well-developed verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
