About the role

PR and media volunteering from your own desk

CPG is a dedicated group of volunteers across Australia who work together to inform the public about the cruelties of greyhound racing – www.greyhoundcoalition.com  www.facebook.com/CoalitionForTheProtectionOfGreyhounds

About us – greyhoundcoalition.com/end-greyhound-suffering

Two different roles

1) Publicising track deaths in SA, WA, NT and Qld.

  • Use a ready-made template to write and clear news releases, then place these with regional media outlets and collect resulting coverage – greyhoundcoalition.com/cpg-in-the-media
  • Requires a rapid response when you’re notified of a death, dedication to detail and would be ideal for someone familiar with news release format who wants to get more experience in this work.
  • You should have a determination to fight the racing industry because of the harm done to racing greyhounds and a reliable internet connection at your home. All work is done using your home equipment.
  • You’ll be a key member of a digital team which is ‘blowing the whistle’ on the industry and ensuring the public knows what’s really going on.

2) PR and media project work needed to bring attention to key issues. This volunteering can be done at your own speed and according to your other commitments.

  • You’ll work on one-off projects which require research, writing and some liaison with other digital team members to produce quality material for publication.
  • Requires more advanced news writing ability, as well as medium to longterm deadline management skills, and would be ideal for a retired media worker or someone between jobs.
  • You should have a determination to fight the racing industry because of the harm done to racing greyhounds, computer literacy and a reliable internet connection at your home. All work is done using your home equipment.
  • You’ll be a key member of a team which is ‘blowing the whistle’ on the industry and ensuring the public knows what’s really going on.
