About the role
About the role
Victorian arts organisation Cinespace is a non-profit incorporated association registered with Consumer Affairs Victoria. Cinespace works in screen arts, supporting emerging filmmakers and screen creators from diverse cultural backgrounds, both at a grass-roots community level, and also as emerging and early-career creatives move toward becoming industry professionals.
Cinespace is seeking a professional, Arts Law student or graduate with Legal (Contract Law, ideally arts law) experience and with a passion for the creative arts, and ideally with experience in the not-for-profit sector, to join our Committee.
This role shares responsibility and decision-making with other members of the Committee. The role will also assist with checking and monitoring contracts for the many projects we undertake.
We require a Criminal History check of an applicant for this role.
About Cinespace Inc.
Established in 2016, Cinespace Inc. is a non-profit incorporated association that supports the Victorian screen industry and Australian screen culture, ensuring that it is representative of the broader inter-cultural community. We work to create greater cultural diversity on screen and behind the scenes, working predominantly to offer skills, networks and opportunities to emerging creatives from culturally-diverse (including refugee and asylum seeker) and First Nations backgrounds.
Our vision is for a more representative screen culture, and through our work to contribute to social cohesion, opportunity and well-being.
We have an organisational residency at Footscray Community Arts Centre for two years.
