Welcome to Hopes and Dreams. We are a not for profit charity that is passionate about making a difference to the lives of the poor, needy and desperate people living in the remote and rural parts of Africa and India. We focus on two key areas:
• bringing clean and safe water to communities, and
• assisting the poor with providing Micro Enterprise Development/Economic Empowerment opportunities.

All of our solutions are self-sustaining with a minimum of 90% of funds received going towards the projects. We are convinced that we can break generational poverty and see lives transformed through what we are doing. We can give ‘hope’ to the hopeless and encourage the poor to awaken their ‘dreams’ and possibilities. To date we have already impacted over 60,000 valuable lives. Together we can reach millions, one life at a time!

We are currently positioning our Management Advisory Board to step up to the next level of operation and funding in order to meet the growing demand for support of our development projects amongst the poorest of the poor communities in India and Africa.

As such we are seeking additional board members with the requisite knowledge, skills and experience required to fulfil this.

Specific areas of expertise we are seeking to enhance within the team include Grant Writing, Fundraising & Advocacy, Marketing & Communications, Social Media, Raising brand awareness, Governance & Risk management, Web Design & Development, Knowledge of the Not For Profit sector, Community Development work (experience in Micro Enterprise Development/Economic Empowerment programs &/or Water and Sanitation Hygiene Education projects) and International Law (India & Africa).

As we are a faith based organisation, we are seeking individuals who share our values and heart, who are committed to the mission and vision, who are ethical and integrous, who bring energy & fresh ideas, who are active and can contribute practically within and between meetings.

This is a voluntary position and there is no salary or remuneration.

The expected commitment is ideally for a minimum of 2 years, approximately 2 hours per board meeting. Board meetings are held 6 times per year or every 2 months. Commitment outside of board meetings is between 2-4 hours per week but only when required or as needed.
