WANTIRNA LIONS CLUB – VOLUNTEER MEMBERSHIP & BOARD ROLES

Wantirna Lions Club is part of Lions Clubs International, the world’s largest community volunteer organisation. We are seeking expressions of interest from passionate and community minded people to join our Club as general members, or on our Board, to make a difference to the Knox Community. The Club has been proudly supporting the local Community for over 40 years and is active in various community projects incorporating;

  • Supporting people with special needs
  • Environment Community Projects
  • Student Scholarships & Youth Development Programs
  • Supporting Community Emergency relief and food bank programs
  • Supporting many Lions national and international causes:

General Membership

As a general member you would have a passion for supporting the less fortunate in our community and participating in the Club’s projects. There is no expectation of the amount of time you would devote other than to say we are seeking active and engaged members.  

Board roles

Secretary

The Secretary serves as the key communications liaison between the Club and other areas of the association of Lions Clubs International and maintains the Club’s history of official proceedings. You assist with the efficient running of the Club and actively participating in the leadership and activities of the Club and its Board. You will provide important specific support for the operations of the club and maintain the club’s records.

Treasurer

As club Treasurer, you keep the club’s financial records in order to ensure the club operates within a proper fiduciary capacity whilst actively participating in the activities and leadership of the Club and its Board. You manage all the financial operations of the club including invoicing, payment of dues, insurances, assets and recording and processing receipts and payments for both the administrative and public service accounts. 

Both these positions are an integral part of the Club’s Board and the incumbents have the opportunity to influence the direction of the Club and MAKE A DIFFERENCE to our community.
