Business Development Manager – Melbourne based radio broadcasting

We are a not-for-profit community broadcaster, not depend on government funding and therefore revenue generation through sponsorship, on-air promotions, corporate and private giving and donations is essential to our successful operations.
3MBS is a member of the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia (CBAA).
About the position
Reporting to the General Manager, the Business Development Manager position is key to the growth of our business. You’ll be responsible for a range of revenue generating activities, including:
• Developing new or reviewing existing strategic plans
• Identifying opportunities for new business
• Maximising networking opportunities within the existing client base
• Retaining existing clients and relationships
• Negotiating successful campaigns with existing clients
• Managing business-to-business sponsorship activities of the station with outside arts organisations and businesses.
• Coordinating on-air sponsorship messages and Community Services Announcements (CSAs) with their producer and scheduler
• Securing the advertising and inserts for the monthly ‘On Air’ guide
• Coordinating advertorial, articles and images for the monthly On Air guide
• Ensuring implementation and billing of sponsorship packages

About you
You’ll be a seasoned professional with at least 3 years experience in business development. Here are some of the other attributes you already have:
• Commercial acumen
• Proven track record in identifying prospective clients, pitching and closing the deal
• Skilled at servicing and retaining existing clients
• Strong relationship builder
• Credible and confident presenter
• Well developed negotiation and organisational skills
• Able to work independently and in a team environment
