Mission / Objective
ChildFund Australia works in partnership with children and their communities to create lasting and meaningful change by supporting long-term community development and promoting children's rights.
The ChildFund Alliance currently assists more than 15 million children in 55 countries, and is supported by over 55,000 sponsors in Australia alone.
Projects in Progress
ChildFund Australia is a child-focused, not-for-profit organisation that works directly with community leaders and families to create lasting and meaningful change. By empowering people to voice their needs and supporting them to address the issues that affect their daily lives, ChildFund is actively supporting sustainable community development. We strive to make the world a safer, healthier and happier place for children by designing programs that support long-term development aimed at achieving self-sufficiency. ChildFund Australia is an independent, non-religious, non-political organisation that never discriminates and works wherever the need is greatest, irrespective of religion, ethnicity or gender.
Since joining ChildFund Australia as CEO in 2006, Nigel has overseen the expansion of its child-focused development programs in Cambodia, Vietnam, Papua New Guinea and Laos, as well as continuing aid and development work through ChildFund Alliance partners in Africa, Asia and the Americas. Nigel has a long history of working with vulnerable and marginalised children, both in Australia and internationally. Prior to his role at ChildFund, he was CEO of the Association of Children's Welfare Agencies (ACWA), and Director of Children and Youth Services with Centacare, Catholic Community Services, Sydney.
