To create a world without diabetes by providing funding for researchers, scientists and clinicians in their ongoing research into the cause, complications and ultimate cure of diabetes.
To reduce the impact and burden of living with diabetes and ensure those living with diabetes remain complication-free.

- Study of blood sugar patterns in children at risk of developing type 1 diabetes to find ways to prevent or delay the development of diabetes
- Simplify gestational diabetes screening for rural and remote women to ensure mothers safely deliver healthy babies
- Trial of a drug to prevent further (often fatal) heart attack in people living with type 2 diabetes
- Prevention of diabetes related blindness
- Investigating genes associated with type 2 diabetes with the aim of tailoring diet and exercise aimed at prevention
- Understanding specific molecules associated with obesity with a view to develop novel treatments
