Our Mission / Objective

Our Vision is to shape a society where everyone has the means and motivation to create a life of their choosing.

At MTC, we provide people the support they need to create the life they want to lead. From youth programs and training, to job opportunities and assistance in starting a new business, we’re here to inspire people from all walks of life to discover, and achieve, their ambitions.

Our Services

MTC is the social enterprise that gives people the inspiration, capability and opportunity to create a fulfilling life. We deliver high impact employment, training and youth programs that help more than 20,000 people every year to gain skills for employment and entrepreneurship, build self-worth, and enable possibilities for transformative change.

We deliver a range of proven programs, including both federal and state government-funded initiatives. We also deliver nationally accredited training courses and innovative youth programs, and offer specialist recruitment services through MTC Recruitment. As a social enterprise, we continue to support and empower at-risk Australians, by reinvesting surplus back into innovative social impact initiatives like Warakirri College, an independent high school for students who need an alternative to mainstream education.

Our Programs and Services

Employment Services

We offer a range of government-funded programs and training designed to help our clients build the skills and self-confidence to find the job they want – or start the business they’ve always dreamed of. Programs include jobactive, Disability Employment Services and the New Enterprise Incentive Scheme.

Education and Training Programs

Our qualified trainers are knowledgeable, experienced and passionate about supporting our clients to reach their potential, helping them gain practical skills and real-world experience. Programs include Skills for Education and Employment and a range of Vocational Education and Training courses.

Youth and Community Services

We deliver innovative programs that support young people to set and achieve their goals. These include mentoring opportunities, programs that provide pathways to employment, and personalised support to stay engaged at school and connected at home. Programs include Smart, Skilled and Hired, Transition to Work, Opportunity Hub, Links to Learning, Youth Frontiers and the No Interest Loans Scheme.

Our Beneficiaries

Initially MTC was founded in 1989 to assist the most disadvantaged, as we’ve grown we’ve expanded our focus to support people from all backgrounds who want to improve their employment skills and prospects.

Projects in Progress

As a social enterprise, we generate an annual surplus, which is then reinvested back into the community through various social impact initiatives. One of these initiatives is Warakirri College, an independent high school for young people completing Year 10 and Higher School Certificate (HSC) studies. It’s a different kind of high school where students are encouraged to be themselves as they study in a flexible adult learning environment.

Warakirri means ‘to grow’ and to help our students grow and achieve, Warakirri College offers an innovative program and a positive and welcoming space. Teachers are there not only to teach but also to help students build confidence, manage other challenges in their life and work towards their own learning, career and life goals.

Who is it For?

Warakirri College is for students aged 15–22 who have disconnected from mainstream education or don’t feel comfortable in a traditional school. Students can be referred from their current school or can apply directly to the college.

How it Works

Warakirri College is registered with the NSW Board of Studies to prepare students for their Year 10 Record of School Achievement (ROSA) or the HSC. It is supported by MTC Australia, a registered charity, so students do not pay fees. The college has two campuses in Fairfield and Blacktown. Students learn in smaller groups where teachers can offer more personalised support, and classes are culturally diverse with a mix of ages and abilities. Students have the opportunity to work on projects that interest them, gain qualifications and do work experience.
