Our Mission / Objective

Our Purpose is to protect oceans, waves and beaches through C.A.R.E. (Conservation, Activism, Research and Education).

Our Mission & Vision is to inspire an engaged surfing and coastal community who are passionate about protecting oceans, waves and beaches.

Projects in Progress

Current Campaigns
Rise Above Plastics aims to raise widespread awareness about the impacts of plastic pollution on our marine environments. The RAP mission is to reduce the impacts of plastics in the marine environment by raising awareness about the dangers of plastic pollution and by advocating for a reduction of single-use plastics and the repurposing of all plastics.
Endangered Waves encourages local and national action to ensure that our surf breaks and unique coastal environments are protected from threats and overdevelopment. An ‘endangered wave’ is one where the wave itself is threatened, or the immediate coastal environment and surfing amenity is threatened by at least two of the threats listed within our Endangered Waves Criteria. Surfrider uses its grassroots volunteer branch network to mobilise local community action to protect waves listed as endangered.
