Our Mission / Objective

Every year in Australia, 950 kids aged 0 – 19 are diagnosed with cancer, and each week three pass away from this insidious disease making it the single greatest cause of death from disease in Australian children.

The Kids’ Cancer Project funds bold scientific research right round the country to find a cures for childhood cancer. We won’t stop until 100% of children diagnosed with cancer survive.

Projects in Progress

Delays in diagnosing childhood cancers can limit treatment options, and for some cancers, there are currently no effective treatments.

Tragically, survival rates for some cancers among children have not improved in more than 25 years, and new analysis of records held by the Australian Childhood Cancer Registry shows the rates of several childhood cancers are slowly rising.

Research can be hard to understand, but our funding priorities are as easy as ABC.

Advocacy. We want to make childhood cancer a priority. We are committed to raising awareness of the issues faced by families, building support and providing real solutions for kids with cancer.

Bench. Laboratory research is the starting point to better understand childhood cancer. We support the type of pioneering thinking that will translate into new therapies to thwart this deadly disease.

Clinic. We are dedicated to ensuring discoveries at the lab bench are progressed into actual treatments as quickly as possible so that every child diagnosed has the best chance of living and living well.
