Do you have what it takes to be a tomorrow maker?

Amazing Australians doing great things in any field – including social entrepreneurs, researchers, scientists, artists and educators – are being encouraged to apply for a share of $1 million.

AMP’s Tomorrow Fund, now in its sixth year, is offering grants of up to $100,000 for people working towards goals with a community benefit.

Since it was first launched in 2014, the fund has received over 12,000 applications and given $5 million in grants to help 230 “tomorrow makers” make their mark on the community.

Head of sustainability and AMP Foundation Helen Liondos said she was looking forward to the fund supporting more exceptional individuals.

“We have been honoured to support some remarkable Australians over the past five years, and have no doubt many more will be worthy of the Tomorrow Maker title in 2019. The breadth of talent and commitment to doing good in our community never fails to amaze,” Liondos said.

“We like to think the Tomorrow Fund provides more than just grants… and the feedback we have received from past recipients supports this, with many telling us the program not only boosted their finances, but also their confidence, community standing and contact list.”

Previous winners include Hunter Johnson from The Man Cave, Fatma Elzein, who set up Mummies Paying It Forward, and Robyn Leonard who founded Brain Cancer Biobank Australia.

The grants can be used for a range of activities, including travel, equipment, study costs, research and more.

Applicants must show what their goal is, why it is important to Australia and what they have done to move closer to it.

Applications close at 4pm on 27 May.
