Melbourne based community services organisation Sacred Heart Mission (SHM) welcomes new CEO Hang Vo.
The new CEO of Melbourne’s Sacred Heart Mission, Hang Vo, will join the not for profit in December, replacing outgoing chief executive Cathy Humphrey, who is retiring after 20 years in the role.
Vo’s previous roles include a six-year term as vice president of the Australian Council of Social Services (ACOSS) and director of South East Community Links. Vo is currently CEO of youth services organisation Whitelion.
Chair of Sacred Heart Mission’s board of directors Chris Stoltz said Vo’s “first-hand experience of dislocation and exclusion drives her commitment for a more inclusive, equitable and just society.”
Vo came to Australia as a refugee in the 1970s and says her work in the sector is motivated by that experience as a young refugee.
Vo also completed an executive education program at Harvard Business School, has an executive MBA, degrees in social work and arts and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
“I’m delighted to welcome Hang Vo to the Sacred Heart Mission family,” Stoltz said.
“Her passion and dedication as a leader will further energise Sacred Heart Mission to build on its 40 year legacy of serving people experiencing homelessness and create opportunities for new services and greater advocacy.”
