28 July 2008 at 3:48 pm

Pro Bono Australia is proud to be a supporting partner of the Responsible Investment Association Australasia (RIAA) 6th International Responsible Investment Conference to be held in Melbourne 24th and 25th September 2008.

The Responsible Investment Association Australasia (RIAA) is the peak industry body for professionals working in responsible investment in Australia and New Zealand.

This conference gives the investment community a chance to come together and get the facts about what it means to be a responsible investor, and to work together to develop sustainable and responsible investment practices that will maximise portfolio value and align investor practices with the big movements afoot in our society.

The conference features dedicated workstreams for values-based or mission-based investors (charities, religious orders and NGOs), financial advisers, institutional investors as well as an introduction to responsible investment.

Keynote speakers include:
– Dave Zellner, Chief Investment Officer, general Board of Pension & Health Benefits, Uniting Methodist Church, USA
– Fred Buenrostro Jnr, Retired CEO, CalPERS, USA
– Donald MacDonald, Trustee British Telecom Pension Fund, UK and Chair of Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI)
