The Victorian Council of Social Service (VCOSS) has launched two new, fully revised editions of its popular manuals for community organisations.

VCOSS CEO Cath Smith says ‘Community Management’ is for management group members about the roles and responsibilities of governance, the differences between governance and management, and the keys to running an effective and efficient organisation.

She says ‘Policies and Procedures is the perfect companion guide, describing what policies and procedures are, why you need them and how to develop them.

The manuals were launched recently by VCOSS President David Pugh at the VCOSS Annual General Meeting.

Also attending were representatives of the Victoria Law Foundation, which funded and co-published the publications.

David Pugh says the authors, project reference group members and those involved in focus testing have done a great job to produce two informative, readable and practical manuals for community organisations.

For information or to order go to www.vcoss.org.au The manuals are $30 each.
