Media and PR Training by the Experts - 2007

It’s on again! Back due to popular demand Pro Bono Australia will once again be holding a series of small and interactive training sessions with a special focus on the Not for Profit sector.

Two of Melbourne’s most highly regarded Media Training and Public Relations & Event Management specialists will again be offering their insights and expertise over two separate days in February 2007.

Media Training

With 29 years experience in the Australian media and 20 years in media training, Lina Caneva will give you the practical ‘hands on’ information and tools to handle any media opportunity or event. Lina has worked extensively as journalist with ABC and Seven Network News and is also an award winning documentary filmmaker.

Lina’s workshops will include basic media training, theory and media management, as well as an intensive ‘key messages’ workshop with radio and television practice. Depending on your need and level of experience these sessions will show you how to use the media to your advantage, hone those key messages and get them out there!

Public Relations & Event Management

Publicist and public relations consultant, Irene Lau left the corporate world of Public Relations in 1996 and set up her own business – Irene Lau PR. Specializing in life-style products and special events, Irene has also planned publicity strategies for not-for-profit organizations and fund-raising events including the Four Chefs Dinner, The Spirit of Christmas charity album and most recently The Australian Transplant Games.

With over 30 years experience as a publicist Irene is one of Melbourne’s best when planning event and media strategies. Irene’s three-hour workshop will show you how to identify possible problems, plan a strategy to avoid the pitfalls and take advantage of the opportunities that will enable you to maximise your event or launch. Learn to measure the success of your campaign and how to recognise success through a properly planned public relations strategy.

The number of delegates per session will be kept to a minimum (approximately 10 per session) in order to ensure a more personal approach and allow time for each individual to workshop their own causes and key messages.

Full day corporate media training sessions with a professional normally cost over $2,000 per person – so with the Not For Profit budget in mind we are offering these sessions at a fifth of the normal rate.

Half Day = $250 + GST per person
Full Day = $400 + GST per person

Program Details:

Sessions will be available for full or half days with morning / afternoon tea and lunch provided for those attending the full day.

The full day sessions have been planned to combine in providing you with both the tools to develop effective key messages, and the distinction of a public relations insight into how these messages work within the bigger picture.
