StartUP! - EastWeb Small Grants

A better than expected fundraising year for EastWeb – a sub- fund of Melbourne Community Foundation has resulted in an extraordinary funding round – StartUP! – offering small grants to help advance the cause of Indigenous, Asylum Seeker or Refugee communities.

Through StartUP! EastWeb is offering five grants of up to $2000 to projects working with these communities to develop community capacity in the areas of health, education, employment and cultural maintenance.

EastWeb can also help, for the period of one year, secure in-kind support and assist in developing the ability to make the project sustainable.

In the past, EastWeb has worked with different groups to develop:
– Fishing and camping outings for a group of indigenous men looking for new solutions to problems of drug and alcohol abuse, domestic violence and unemployment.
– Sewing groups and dance troupes for asylum-seeker and refugee women looking to learn new skills, create employment opportunities and share their culture with the broader Melbourne community.
– Health and nutrition programs for young indigenous school children providing education and mentoring.

For more information on EastWeb’s grants, the services it can provide and application procedures, please visit www.eastweb.org.au.

Please send completed applications to
