Enduring Partnerships - Sony and CanTeen

Formulating partnerships is tough….cementing them is even tougher. The Sony Foundation and the youth cancer support organisation CanTeen have an enduring partnership that continues to be innovative.
Sony Foundation Australia is the philanthropic arm of the Sony group of companies and it has just reconfirmed its commitment to Australia’s youth by pledging a $100,000 donation each year for the next three years to CanTeen.
Sony has been a major supporter of CanTeen since the Foundation’s inception in 1999.
CanTeen’s CEO, Christine Rowell says she’s enormously encouraged by the Sony Foundation’s genuine wish to develop partnerships that are primarily aimed at helping Australia’s youth achieve their full potential.
Rowell describes the partnership as unique and without it CanTeen would not be able to offer valuable programs to young people living with cancer.
Sony’s Australian Chairman, Denis Handlin says the aim of the Foundation is to capitalise on the unique qualities of the company and to contribute to the Australian community by assisting youth and fostering their talents.
All administration, operational and marketing costs for the Foundation are met fully by Sony meaning that every dollar donated by corporate partners and the public is given directly to worthwhile causes.
