Adelaide-based project management company Austraining International has appointed prominent South Australian Not for Profit consultant, Moira Deslandes to its Board of Directors.

Austraining Chairman John Bastian said Deslandes’ professional experience complimented the work of Austraining across the organisation’s core areas of volunteer management, scholarship services, and development programs.

“Ms Deslandes has extensive operational and strategic management experience in the Not for Profit sector in both Australia and overseas, and in government at state, regional and
national levels,” he said.

“We are confident Ms Deslandes’ energy and passion for program management, advocacy and community and social development is a great fit with our organisation.”

Deslandes is currently working with Carers SA as their Senior Policy and Carer Engagement Officer and facilitating the Leaders Institute of SA’s Think Tanks.
Deslandes academic qualifications are in social policy, economics and ethics.

Austraining International employs over 90 staff in its Kent Town office, with a further 80 staff and subcontractors located across Asia, the Pacific, Africa and Latin America. Austraining is a commercial enterprise wholly owned by the Government of South Australia.

Austraining says it adopts a cooperative approach to social development in the core areas of volunteer management, scholarship services and development programs.

It is responsible for the management of the Australian Volunteers for International Development and Australian Youth Ambassadors for Development programs on behalf of AusAID, as well as post-selection support for Award Holders of the Endeavour Awards, on behalf of the Department of Industry, Innovation, Climate Change, Science, Research and Tertiary Education.
