New Grants Open For NFPs

New initiatives that promote sustainable development and encourage social and economic improvements for disadvantaged communities can apply for a share in up to $25,000 worth of grants.
The application process for the 2015 Ethos Global Community Project Grants was launched recently.
An initiative of Ethos Global Foundation, a Darwin-based charity, the Community Project Grants provide seed funding for inspirational community-orientated organisations and groups that, through ethical practices, are committed to supporting and strengthening a community’s capacity and resilience.
“These Grants are unique as they enhance a groups’ capability to implement important initiatives for positive cultural and societal benefit,” Renita Glencross, Executive Director, Ethos Global Foundation, said.
“The objectives of the Grants reflect those of the Foundation and we are thrilled to be able to support these groups with their vision and commitment to a more fair and just society.”
All organisations and groups in Australia, whether Not for Profit or for profit with purpose, that through the use of demonstrated ethical practices are instigating programs to empower communities and seek to drive positive social and sustainable development, are encouraged to apply for one of the five grants.
“There are many truly inspirational organisations and community groups that are actively contributing to society and developing communities. We want to hear from them,” Glencross said.
The recipients of the Ethos Global Community Project Grants, which range in value from $500-$5000, will gain recognition throughout the business, Not for Profit and community development sector for their contribution to society and their unique vision and leadership.
Additionally, the grant recipients will be supported with project planning, development and management and have access to networking and promotional opportunities.
“Ethos Global is proud of its work with diverse and developing communities and, through the allocation of these Grants, hopes to inspire organisations and groups to embrace this vision for increasing local and global community wellbeing,” Glencross said.
Nominees will be asked to submit an account of their project, its aims and expected outcomes and commit to the Ethos Global Foundation’s Code of Ethics.
The assessment panel comprising members of the Ethos Global Foundations board of Directors will review the entries in search of the most innovative and socially significant programs, with the recipients being announced on 1 June 2015.
