Unlocking Potential - People with Disabilities

The Spastic Society of Victoria is hosting the Australian Cerebral Palsy Association National Conference in November.
With images of the Paralympic Games still in the mind of the community, the theme is Unlocking Potential: What are the keys to meaningful community participation for people with disabilities.
Karen Burton from the Spastic Society of Victoria says the right to participate in the community applies to people no matter what their disability, age or background and it has been enshrined in various forms of legislation.
She says the conference looks at how far Australia has come and it will bring together a prestigious group of national and international keynote speakers.
The conference is aimed at health, community, education and disability service managers and staff, to local, state and commonwealth staff and to people with disabilities, their families and carers.
For a registration brochure contact the Conference Secretariat on 03 9536 4237 or visit the Conference we site at www.acpa2000.ssov.org.au where you will find the full program and registration forms.
