The deadline for nominations for the 2001 Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Community Business Partnerships is the16th of March and organisers are expecting a record number of entries for the third year of the awards.
Glenn Roach from Community Business Partnership says this year they expect to greatly exceed the 220 nominations from last year with many organisations entering in multiple categories.
Roach says this year the addition of two new special categories has also drawn great support. The first special award is for a partnership that has been operating for more then five years and the second for impact on a community by business.
This year the Community Business Partnership has produced a simplified nomination form to allow community groups to readily identify the category into which they fall.
The national winner of last year’s award was the Toomelah Cooperative Society and the New England TAFE for it Euraba Paper Mill. The project received $10,000 towards the continuing success of the Mill.
