Greyhounds Lure Community Groups

If you are losing inspiration for new or ‘unique’ community partnerships then this little greyhound story from Victoria, which is helping disabled groups, is likely to re-invigorate your thinking.
The “chase” for great prize-money has lured a number of community groups throughout Victoria to their regional greyhound racing club.
Over the last two months, regional clubs have been busy signing up disability groups in their local area to participate in The Great Chase.
All groups registered are matched with a greyhound entered to race in The Great Chase series, and if their greyhound wins, so will they!
One group will not only pick up $3,000 first prize, but will continue to receive 10% of their greyhound’s earnings for the remainder of the year.
Receiving strong support from VicHealth, The Great Chase has been designed to make people with disabilities feel welcome at their local greyhound racing track any time throughout the year.
The heats of The Great Chase will get under way across Victoria during the period of Tuesday 13 May – Monday 19 May 2003, with the final to be conducted at the Bendigo Greyhound Racing Club on Friday, 30 May 2003.
You can’t help but smile!
