About the role
My Forever Family NSW cares for those who care for children in the NSW Out-of-Home Care (OOHC) system.
There are over 17,000 children within the OOHC system in NSW, and we need 600 foster carers to address the shortage of carers across the region.
If you have the space in your heart and your home, you can make a real difference in a child’s life.
There are various types of carers needed – including foster, emergency and respite. A child may need care for one night, for a week, for months or years. If you’re working or not, have kids or not, in a relationship or not, if you have the space in your heart and your home, we need you.
Emergency Foster Carers
You flourish in an emergency, you’re the first one to raise your hand and offer help when people need it. And in NSW, there are thousands of children who do.
Emergency foster care is needed when there are concerns for the immediate safety of children and young people. This can be short notice, after hours and on weekends but in a crisis, you’re who people turn to.
You want to make a difference. You’ve thought about fostering a child but you don’t have a lot of free time. But if you’ve got a free weekend once a month, or are available over school holidays, you can help.
Respite care gives full time foster carers a break. Foster durations are short, but they make all the difference to kids and carers alike.
My Forever Family needs foster carers from all walks of life for all kinds of care.
