Empowerment Through Knowledge
1 March 2018 at 7:32 am
The Collins & Co fourth annual not-for-profit conference, being held at the MCG in Melbourne on 15 March 2018, is designed for all levels and areas of expertise and boasts two formidable keynote speakers.
Collins & Co is a Melbourne accounting and advisory firm and a strong supporter of the charities and not-for-profit sector. They provide practical support through their annual all-day conference, tailored specifically to the sector, whereby they subsidise the cost to make it affordable for all organisations.
Their conference is designed for all levels and areas of expertise, with the aim of empowering attendees through the experts’ knowledge, so that attendees take away information, ideas and understandings which will be practical and valuable to both their organisations and themselves.
This year’s conference has two formidable keynote speakers:
- Susan Alberti AC: 2017 Melburnian of the Year, leading Australian business woman, philanthropist, a key instigator behind the AFL Women’s League and the founder of the Susan Alberti Medical Research Foundation. Susan’s keynote address is Respect, Responsibility and Making a Difference.
- David Locke: Assistant commissioner charity services at the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission. David will give a very timely update on the ACNC submission for the review of the ACNC legislation and the recent trends in the NFP sector.
Both are both generating enormous interest, especially with the current focus on
- women in the workplace, respect, gender and pay equality, #MeToo, women in sport; and
- the uncertainty surrounding the review of the ACNC legislation.
The other expert speakers, from across three streams, will deliver a wide range of topics including leadership, fundraising, building relationships and support, effective networking, successful grant seeking tips, marketing strategies, branding, value propositions, effective written communication, consumer law and the accounting standards changes.
The conference is supported by various sponsors who will be available to discuss how their products and services can assist you, and the day concludes with an after-conference networking session for all attendees, speakers and sponsors, to create outcome-based relationships.
The other speakers are:
- Derek Mortimer, The Australian Consumer Law: Don’t Let Your Not-for-Profit Become a Front-Page Consumer Scam;
- Bianca Crocker, People Power – Ways to Build Your Community Support;
- Natalie Egleton, Show Me The Money: Practical Tips on Grant-Seeking;
- Katrina Baddeley, Leadership – A New Way of Doing Business;
- Frank Chamberlain, Creating Compelling Writing with Every Email You Send – 17 Tips;
- Julie Weldon, Getting Known on a Shoestring Budget;
- Bianca Crocker, Key Tools for Small Charity Success;
- Michael McGann, For Purpose Organisation Branding;
- Gordon Jenkins, Network with Purpose – Surviving and Thriving in a Changing and Challenging World;
