Community Auditing Project
7 March 2005 at 12:03 pm

A Not for Profit funded by the NSW Government to provide management support and training for other community organisations is branching out to offer auditing and financial review services in both Sydney and Melbourne.

The Community Management Advisory Project has been operating in the Hunter region of NSW and Sydney with a volunteer management committee for some 14 years.

The service has been providing telephone support, group and individual training, access to resources and computer support.

Coordinator of the Project, David Beddoe says the organisation has extensive knowledge of the workings of the community sector and the relationships with federal and state funding bodies.

Beddoe says this experience means that the audit provides a value-added tool for helping the development of organisations rather than taking a watchdog approach.

The result he says is a springboard for constructive recommendations on a Not for Profit’s operations.

Beddoe is a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) and a Solicitor and Barrister.

The auditing services are unfunded under the Project’s current services and Beddoe says the work will be carried out on a Not for Profit fee for service basis which is also GST free. He says all audits are carried out by chartered accountants.

The Project’s website is under re-construction but should be up and running later this week. For more information go to: www.cmap.org.au.
Or call David Beddoe on 0407 943 816.
