All proceeds from the newly released Tunes for Change album will go to World Vision Australia

A new album featuring never-before-released recordings from popular Australian artists will see all the profits going to charity, encouraging Australians to listen in for a good cause.

Technology company Lenovo has again partnered with Tunes for Change to release a compilation album, featuring recordings from Triple J’s ‘Hottest 100’ artists.

High profile and emerging Australian artists such as The Jezabels, Gotye, Washington, Architecture in Helsinki, Hilltop Hoods, Ladyhawke, Gossling and San Cisco feature on the album, from which 100 per cent of sales will go to World Vision Australia.

Founder of Tunes for Change Richard Wilson said that Tunes for Change is a unique concept which “works on the premise that music evokes social connection”.

“We aim to channel this connection towards a good cause to help generate social change,” Wilson said.

He says Tunes for Change works with Australian musicians to compile four unique albums a year, which are available for download at Tunes For Change for a donation of $5 or more.

At the end of the download period, Tunes for Change donates 100 percent of its profits to a pre-selected charitable organisation.

“We are thrilled to be working with Lenovo to help raise money and awareness for World Vision Australia,” Wilson said.

“Lenovo is helping Tunes for Change achieve its mission of exposing Australia’s emerging, independent artists whilst also raising funds and awareness for a fantastic cause.”

World Vision Australia chief executive Tim Costello said that World Vision was “extremely grateful” to be benefiting from the partnership.

“Tunes for Change is a fantastic and original concept,” Costello said. “World Vision Australia is thrilled that some of the nation’s most talented musicians are involved.”

Founded in 2010, Tunes for Change is a Not for Profit organisation that aims to raise funds through music to create and maintain a new exposure/promotion platform for emerging independent and exceptional Australian Artists.

Managing director of Lenovo Alan Munro said: “Through this partnership with Tunes for Change we are simply asking people to enjoy fantastic new Australian music to benefit a great cause.”
