Are you a local sporting club, rescue unit, service club conservation group or any volunteer group that could use $15,000? Well nominations are now being accepted for the National Bank’s 2000 National Community Link Awards.

The awards are a means of rewarding and promoting the unheralded efforts of 2.7 million volunteers who regularly contribute to their local community.

Since its inception in 1997 the Awards have honoured the volunteering excellence of 151 local clubs and organisations and collectively they have shared in over half a million dollars in prize money. In 2000, the number of winners will be increased from 67 to 92 and the prize money increased from $174,000 to $320,000.

Any local or regional Not for Profit community organisation is eligible to enter regardless of the numbers of volunteers or the project budget.

Nominations close Friday 4 August,2000.

For more information and nomination forms phone the Awards hotline on 1800 807 121 during business hours or visit the Community Link section of the National’s web site on www.national.com.au/link.
