Two weeks until the GST starts! Check out the latest Tax Office information relating to charities at www.taxreform.ato.gov.au. A recent meeting to discuss Not for Profit issues still had no joy on one issue. If a charity pays a bill for a householder (e.g. electricity bill) the charity cannot claim an input tax credit. However if a volunteer is reimbursed expenses by a charity, an ITC will be allowed for such reimbursements!
