ATO Assist' - Tax Help for Not for Profits

The Australian Tax Office website “ATO Assist” now has a comprehensive section on tax issues relating to Not for Profit organisations.

In a clear and well thought out site it offers tax information on everything from starting a charity to understanding all the tax implications for operating your organisation.

As well it offers a number of Fact Sheets including one on School Building Funds, Fundraising Dinners, Disaster Relief and Health promotion.

It includes a special section on Gifts and Donations.

One service called the “Nonprofit News Services” offers forms, calculators and tax rate sheets. However this service wasn’t up and running late last week.
