Resourcing in 2004

Pro Bono Australia is celebrating another successful year of expansion and resourcing the Not for Profit sector in 2004.

Here’s a snapshot of what we have done!

Our e-Newsletters

We delivered 38 e-Newsletters read by an estimated 20,000 readers each edition – a combination of fortnightly (our Not for Profit e-News) and monthly (our Corporate Community e-News).

Over 60 free reports, forms and fact sheets were offered via the e-Newsletters. The stories that drew significant interest this year were tax issues as they related to fundraising and volunteering, and the Volunteer Treasurer’s Handbook! Discussions on hiring and firing in the sector, best practice when running a charity auction and a code of ethics also drew an incredible response.

Almost 1,300 requests for information were handled and responded to by Pro Bono Australia…and we love the great feedback in your e-mails.

Volunteer Match

There were 21,712 website sessions completed on our www.volunteermatch.com.au website.

We currently have 1,200 skilled professional volunteers registered for opportunities to volunteer, over 2,000 registered NFP users, and hundreds of opportunities Australia-wide. Volunteer Match is a free service to all using it.

Our 2005 Directory of Not for Profit organisations

Our distribution has grown to 52,000 individuals and organisations involved in allocating funding across Australia in 2005.

Our website – probonoaustralia.com.au

Our website visitation has been slowly but surely growing to reach its highest levels since we established it in 1999.

Get ready for our new WOW Guide in 2005

WOW – Who Offers What? From printers to event managers, from web site designers to office suppliers and everything in between.

Pro Bono Australia’s latest resource publication –The WOW Guide –Who Offers What is the first of its kind in Australia listing the most commonly required goods and services used by the sector.

With over forty category headings The WOW Guide will be distributed free of charge to some 15,000 Not for Profits in March 2005.

Pro Bono Australia has had a stunning year consolidating and reaping the rewards of the efforts we have made over the past 5 years. Our notion of setting up a “social purpose business venture”, whilst a foreign notion to many, has been proven a success.

We are a very small team working across Pro Bono Australia, and our other business, Mahlab Direct. I’d like to thank our team – Karen Burr, Irina Bourova, Lina Caneva, Jo Stanlake, Sharona Radovsky, Alime Adeva, Sue Grant and Narelle Mayer for their tremendous effort this year.

Thanks to all those readers who frequently send us messages of support. This is our last edition for 2004. We will be back mid January with a whole lot more in 2005!
