Find your voice - Presentation skills workshops
3 November 2008 at 2:50 pm

These days, simply knowing the technicalities of your job is only one part of your role working for a Not-For-Profit organisation. So many other things contribute to how clients, colleagues, stakeholders and the community perceive and respect you.

One of the things that can limit your on-the-job performance is the fear of presenting or speaking in public – one of the greatest fears known.

With this in mind, Pro Bono has teamed up with Spruikit to conduct a presentation skills training workshop specifically for its readers from the Not-For-Profit community. Spruikit is a communications consultancy that specialises in assisting people to present and speak publicly with confidence.

Presentation skills training is a proven way to help overcome speaking fears and gain the necessary skills by giving participants the opportunity to learn and practice in a friendly non-threatening environment.

Spruikit’s presentation skills training workshops help participants, regardless of age or experience, with the necessary ability to be a more polished and confident presenter – skills that include being able to identify bad presenting habits, to develop new presenting techniques, and to better articulate a point-of-view. The Spruikit workshop program has been designed by an experienced corporate presenter and a television news presenter – a program that delivers a very broad perspective on how to make a winning presentation!

The workshop will be facilitated by Spruikit’s David Thomas (corporate CEO and government background), Marianne Van Dorslar (well-known Media Presenter), and Jenny Kent (Speech Pathologist and Voice Coach).

Pro Bono is pleased to have agreed a special Not-For-Profit rate of $450 (including GST) per place at this full day workshop which will be held at the Victorian Deaf Society in East Melbourne.

With only 12 places available, please book your place early.

Testimonials

"Thank you for a very entertaining course yesterday. Quite apart from what we learned directly I think the benefit of being able to go away with tips on how to continue to improve is going to be very valuable in the future. I will be recommending to my partners that we send more staff on the Spruikit workshop." – Managing Director

“Even though I have been presenting for over 10 years, I found the material useful, and wish I had these techniques 10 years ago. A very informative day and materials I can use again and again. Thanks!” – Business Development Manager
