A new round of job advertisements will appear in the national press this weekend for further executive positions with the new charity regulator, Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC).

Announced yesterday, the ACNC said it is seeking candidates with “drive, ambition and integrity who have a passion for this important sector” to help shape the new regulatory approach and services of the agency.

The ACNC will have its headquarters in Melbourne, but says it will have a presence in Canberra to facilitate engagement with stakeholders such as the Government, Not for Profit peak bodies and Commonwealth agencies.

Applications for SES/Executive, APS5 – EL1 roles are now open. The ACNC is also inviting applications for the positions of ACNC Commissioner and Advisory Board Members, which are fixed term appointments for up to five years.

Last week Pro Bono Australia reported that some of the already appointed roles are expected to be announced mid-February following a recruitment drive that is said to have produced many high calibre candidates.

The ACNC said it received 90 applications for the top roles of Director, with the successful candidates to be announced by the Federal Assistant Treasurer Mark Arbib this month.

The interim commissioner and head of the ACNC Implementation Taskforce Susan Pascoe told Pro Bono Australia last week that she encouraged skilled people with a passion for charitable and Not for Profit work to consider joining the ACNC.
