Hesta Community Awards Open
5 April 2016 at 10:47 pm

The 2016 HESTA Community Sector Awards, in partnership with the Australian Council of Social Service, are open for nomination.

With a total prize pool of $30,000, the awards recognise outstanding service provision, advocacy and leadership in improving the lives of people who rely on access to the services of this sector.

“It is an opportunity to publicly recognise the inspirational work individuals and organisations provide to the broader community, supporting those who need it most,” HESTA CEO Debby Blakey said.

“The awards are also intended to raise community awareness of the need for all members of the community to share the responsibility of working towards a more inclusive, compassionate and effective society.”

She said those working in the community sector make an invaluable contribution to building stronger, more inclusive communities.

There are three award categories, designed to cover the wide range of professions and skills within Australia’s community sector.

Nominations are made across three categories:

Nominations open on Friday April 1 and close Friday August 19. Finalists will be announced on Tuesday October 18.

Winners will be announced at the ACOSS Conference awards dinner in Sydney on Thursday 17 November 2016.
