Premier Southern Hemisphere Fundraising Conference Like No Other
5 July 2017 at 4:38 pm

The world’s biggest philanthropic conference series is set to hit Australian shores once again this year – with Blackbaud, the world’s leading cloud software company powering social good, hosting another amazing bbcon in August.

The premier fundraising event like no other in the southern hemisphere, is set to rock your mission and promises to be even bigger and better than last year.

The two-day not-for-profit event, provides a forum for fundraisers to share ideas, get fuelled by fresh thinking, invigorated by innovation, and be energised by industry experts and thought leaders across multiple streams of engaging sessions.

Each year bbcon Asia Pacific convenes hundreds of innovative fundraising professionals into one place. This year, it’s being held at the state-of-the-art International Conference Centre in Sydney’s Darling Harbour from August 22 to 23.

You’ll have the opportunity to connect with your peers and be captivated by knowledge and insights that are shaping the fundraising landscape of today.  With six streams and 45+ sessions across two days, you will leave armed with insightful best practice, inspiring stories to help accelerate your business growth and mission success.

This year’s conference offers the unique opportunity to:

  • Learn from industry-leading change-makers across six core streams including digital and social, change of pace in fundraising, higher education, insights and inspiration, the business side of NFP and CRM and technology sessions.
  • Participate in meaningful conversations with social good leaders and practitioners around the biggest challenges, opportunities and trends facing this sector
  • Connect with technologists, marketers, fundraisers, digital gurus and other social good professionals
  • Expand your vision by being the first to hear about transformative technology innovations coming our way from Blackbaud and our partners
  • Get inspired by fresh new ideas and content all tailored for the not-for-profit sector with powerful keynotes and memorable experiences along the way.

Our awe-inspiring opening keynote speaker

This year bbcon is delighted to welcome Deanne Weir, managing director of content aggregation and wholesale at Foxtel as the amazing opening keynote speaker.

As a media entrepreneur, company director and philanthropist, Weir has built an inspiring vision for philanthropic endeavours and we’re thrilled she’ll be sharing her story at bbcon.  Her sheer determination to make a difference within society and breaking down the stereotypes of philanthropy is compelling, as is her passion and commitment to eliminating gender inequality in the causes she supports.

Get ready to hear her insights into a gender-focused approach and how to apply this to “everyday philanthropy”. She’ll reveal how the not-for-profit sector could take a business lens approach to philanthropy, and showcase best practice examples and lessons learned from the corporate world.

Be part of a ground-breaking charity reputation study

Be part of something truly revolutionary – and only at bbcon2017.  When you register for bbcon, your organisation is automatically eligible to participate in a ground-breaking charity reputation study that has never been done before – at no cost at all to your organisation.

Blackbaud has partnered with leading research firm, AMR, to commission this ground-breaking first of its kind quantitative research study. The study aims to capture critical and actionable insight into the reputation of not-for-profit organisations and what is driving this valuable intangible asset.

Why should you participate?  We all understand that for the charity sector the reputation you build with your donors is vital, yet few charities regularly measure the engagement they have with their supporters not only because the cost of doing so is high but also because real benchmarks really do not exist.

Blackbaud is excited to provide the first 20 charities the opportunity to express their interest to participate in this reputation study at no cost, with the results revealed at bbcon in August.  CLICK HERE

The Blackbaud $10k challenge is back again this year!

For the second year in a row, Blackbaud will donate $10,000 to a bbcon attendee as part of the $10K Challenge.

The competition aims to highlight the passion that fuels the Not for Profit sector and give fundraisers a chance to share their stories with the world.

Blackbaud launched its $10k challenge last year and audiences were inspired and absolutely loved it – it is so clear that fundraisers are the unsung heroes of the not-for-profit sector, who dedicate a lot of time and effort to achieving their mission. The Blackbaud $10K Challenge is a chance to recognise these inspiring people and celebrate the spirit of our sector’.

To participate in the $10k challenge entrants are required to submit a short video or captioned image that conveys how $10,000 could be used to “power their passions”. Submissions will be shared online using #sharethepassion and put to a public vote that closes on 11th August.

bbcon is cost effective for the value it delivers. It’s about celebrating the heart of fundraising and enabling future innovation. We mustn’t forget that the real power of our unique sector lies in the passion and crusading spirit of some incredible people. You power social good. bbcon is set to power you. We can’t wait to share in the passion.  See you at #bbcon2017.
