Government opens applications for ACNC commissioner
29 July 2022 at 11:38 am

The advertisement highlights the commissioner’s role in enhancing charities’ confidence to pursue purpose.

The hunt is officially on for a new commissioner for the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC).

The full-time vacancy is now advertised on the Australian Government’s careers website.

According to the website, the government is seeking an applicant with “experience and understanding of the not-for-profit sector”, as well as “law, taxation, accounting, management and/or government”.

In what will likely be good news for the sector, the advertisement asks for a person who is “committed to maintaining a regulatory environment that enhances the capability and confidence of Australian charities to pursue their purpose”.

Applications for the position close on 14 August.
