The Australian Tax Office has produced a new publication guide on the administration of Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) for Not for Profit organisations.

New ATO Guide To FBT for NFPs

The Australian Tax Office has produced a new publication guide on the administration of Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) for Not for Profit organisations.

The new guide is aimed at helping organisations decide if there is a fringe benefit tax obligation, recognising the FBT concessions that might apply and how to calculate fringe benefits liability.

The Guide explains how FBT works and
-details the fringe benefits most commonly provided
– explains how to calculate the FBT payable for these benefits
– what records must be kept in relation to FBT
– explains in brief the less commonly provided benefits, and
– where to locate more detailed information.
