Get Stuff - Youth Publication
11 September 2006 at 1:09 pm

“Stuff 2006” is all the stuff young people need to know in a new magazine launched in Victoria by the State Government.

The free magazine contains information as practical as buying a car, moving out of home, getting a job, renting, dealing with police and managing money.

The Victorian Minister for Consumer Affairs, Marsha Thomson says the magazine gives real advice and information on how to deal with the issues young people face as they make the transition to adulthood.

Young people can also keep the magazine so they can refer to it later when they need specific information or when they need important contact numbers.

Stuff 2006 also includes new topics on volunteering, how to stay active and healthy after leaving school, sexual health and body image.

The magazine also contains interviews with 17 to 19 year olds and other young people. They talk about a range of experiences, including university life, moving out of home and schoolies week.

Stuff will be given to school leavers and young Victorians between 17 to 19 years old and provides them with relevant information on how to stand on their own two feet.

Stuff will be distributed to more than 100,000 VCE students, TAFE colleges and youth groups throughout metropolitan and regional Victoria.

Anyone wanting to order a copy of Stuff magazine or seeking help and information about consumer issues should call Consumer Affairs Victoria on 1300 55 81 81 or visit www.consumer.vic.gov.au
