?Cheeky Clip Has Serious Workplace Safety Message

?A tongue-in-cheek animation released by the Red Cross College has urged all workplaces to ensure first aid training and kits are kept up to date. ?

National workplace training provider Red Cross College released the animation with the message that workplace injury without the correct First Aid treatment can have ‘catastrophic outcomes’ for employees and businesses.

?It tells the story of ‘Bill’ an animated creature who gets a paper-clip stuck in his eye at work and things quickly become disastrous because his workplace is not equipped for workplace accidents. ?

According to the Red Cross College, 2 000 Australian workers die and 640 000 workers report a work-related injury or illness every year, costing the economy $60.6 billion.

?Red Cross College Marketing and Communications Manager Rebecca Buonsanto said First Aid and workplace safety was a fundamental element that was often overlooked in business. ?

“We have created an entertaining clip to push the important First Aid message, giving people a bit of a laugh at the same time,” she said. ?

The College suggests workplaces make it a priority to learn First Aid to ensure all colleagues are equipped to deal with First Aid emergencies. ?
